Genius wizard chapter 1 part 2

 When I opened my eyes once again, I was on the bed.

I smelled ointment all over my body that was covered in bandages. I involuntarily wrinkled my forehead at the throbbing pain that struck me suddenly.

I looked around and saw a bed with covers, a medicine box resting upon a tabletop accompanied by other first aid kits. From this scenery, I guessed I was somewhere like an infirmary. 

The whole place was quiet like I was the only one around.

" Was it a dream"

No, it felt much too real for that.

I picked up the mirror on the table and checked my face.

I saw a young man with a unfamiliar face staring back at me. He had black hair, blue eyes, and a blue snake tattooed on his neck. 

Gang, hierarchy, traitor, murder, prison.

Blue snake. Cain river. 

The puzzle in my head was instantly completed. And as I glanced at the calendar on the wall the puzzle in my head became a complete picture.

April 13th of the Imperial year 1072.

It is the date that marks the start of the main character's story.

I am not in Korea.

I have entered the novel I wrote.

Not as the main character, but as a supporting character I had set up to use sometime in the future.

I laughed out loud with no shame. Not knowing it was because of my "coolness" characteristic.

I glanced out the window and saw that above the barbed wire enclosed a thin line rising toward the sky. Although it looks like a line from this distance, it is actually a wall. It is the wall that surrounds the capital of the empire, the location where the main story of the novel is set. The wall is high enough to reach the sky and can be seen from anywhere on the continent.

Outside that wall is a completely lawless area. Or at least that is the setting.

This world is set in a modern age, where magic and science are intertwined. 

While the land within the wall is rich in resources, the land outside is barren and scarce in resources. It is full of profiteering businesses and criminal gangs. 

One of the three largest organizations is the Blue Snake Gang, the one where Cain River served as an executive.

I called out the system and a hologram appeared in response to my thoughts.

The situation is ironic. It is known to the outside world that Cain betrayed the organization, but in reality, Cain was the one who was betrayed by his trusted colleagues and fellow executives.
